Napkin Labs have created a platform that lets businesses carry out co-design with their customers through social networks and web platforms.
So they’ve taken parts of design thinking methods such as discussions, brainstorming and refining and let their customers take part. The design thinking approach was created by IDEO originally, but has grown enormously in popularity and in practice. One of IDEO’s aims was for design thinking not only to be used by consultancies, but by non-design organisations. This goes beyond human-centered design to co-design, where customers help to create new products and services in a less passive way than traditional market research and customer feedback allowed for.
